LOBSTERS ON THE LAWN... Chester Rotary Lobsterfest 2021!
We invite you to join us for LOBSTERS ON THE LAWN, Chester Rotary’s 2021 Lobsterfest fundraising event to be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
The Chester Fairground will be open this year. Patrons can decide whether to stay and dine al fresco at the fairgrounds or to take their meals “to-go” and enjoy them at home. In an effort to maintain safe social distancing, this year’s event will not have the usual tent and community table seating. There will be limited socially-distanced tables, but folks who wish to dine on-site are strongly encouraged to bring their table and chairs to set up their own dining spot and ensure seating. Decorations, cornhole and other items to make it fun are welcome. Live music will be provided from 4:30 until 8:30 by both the Gary Torello Band and by John Brown and the Back-Street Pickers. Wine and beer will be available for purchase; BYO is also allowed. For guests who plan to dine at the fairgrounds, the gates will open at 2pm for early set up.
On the menu this year is a choice of a single, 1 ½ pound lobster or a single NY strip steak, plus baked potato, corn-on-the-cob (locally grown & picked the morning of the event), coleslaw, two rolls, butter, and sour cream. Tickets are $45 each. All meals will be packaged to-go allowing patrons the choice to dine on site or at home, or decide last minute based on the weather or Covid concerns.
Tickets are limited and only available for purchase online. Visit www.ChesterRotary.org for the link to the on-line ticket site. When tickets are purchased, patrons will be asked to select one of several pick-up half-hour time slots that will minimize the time waiting in the food line. Meal pick-up times will run between 4:30 and 7.
All proceeds from the Lobsterfest Fundraiser will benefit our local community, as has been true for the past 50 years. Chester Rotary supports over a dozen local non-profits, as well as gives scholarships to preschool, Camp Hazen, and college, and enriches the community with projects like the aquarium at Chester Elementary School, the renovation of Tri-Town Youth Services, media equipment for Camp Hazen, and planters and media equipment for the new outdoor classroom. The generous support of Rotary event patrons and our sponsors make those contributions possible.
